“How long has it been?” (Too long)

April 26th, 2009

It’s been so long since I’ve posted I’ve almost forgot how my blog works.  Work has been beyond busy, almost to the point where working a few hours on Saturday seems normal.  I think it goes without saying that I’d rather not get into that habit, however I’ve been working on some pretty cool projects lately that I think will really start to move our organization in a different direction and how we do business with our customers.  Ok, enough about work.  I’ve obviously been busy lately, but here is a quick sampling of what I’ve been up to…

  •  I went to the play “Wicked“, the prequel to the Wizard of Oz.  This was my first play I’ve seen since college and my first “professional” play if you will.  It was incredibly good.  The cast was amazing.
  • I made it out to have a few beers with my good friend Ryan from Petmarmoset and his wife Jeana.  One of his bands that Ryan does PR for, Derby (you can check them out on the links on the right side of the page), was the main act. It was over @ Mississippi Studios in NE Portland.  They recently redid the venue, and while it lacks some personality, it is a great place to see a show and it has a real intimate feel.
  • About 4 weeks ago a bright burning orb showed up in the sky over Portland.  From what I’m told it’s a mythical creature which has been referred to as the “sun”.  Apparently it just burns really bright and make things warm, people come out of there homes to worship it, and women wear decidedly less clothing.  I’ve come to the conclusion I need to hunt for a place where this fabled orb burns on a regular basis.  And I digress…I was able to take my good friend David’s convertible out as he was out of town and crazy enough to leave me the keys.  Since the car costs about as much as my life insurance policy is worth I opted to drive where most people would not.  I stumbled across a floating bar on the Multnomah channel west of Portland.  2 weeks later the sun came out again and I decided to convince 9 of my friends to come join me at my new favorite Oregon bar.
  • Yesterday I finished my final long run of my marathon training…its somewhat refreshing that I can run 10 miles like I’m going out to get a cup a coffee.  Next week comes the real test…26.2 miles in Tracktown U.S.A.
  • Baseball season is in full swing…so Friday night I made it to happy hour to catch the Red Sox/Yankees came. Needless to say the home team won.  Viva la Boston!!!

Until the next time.

 Cheers,

Adam Boston Red Sox, Misc
