The Soloist

I don’t hide the fact that I love movies.  I will pretty much go to a movie no mater the weather, the day, etc.  Generally I prefer to go alone, no idea why…but I just love movies.  Between marathon training, work, and the lack of good movies out, I haven’t been in some time.  In the coming weeks there are going to be some pretty good ones coming out which i’m looking forward to.  Today was a pretty typical spring day in Portland, cloudy to the point that the sky looks like it wants to rain but can’t decide to do so, thus prime movie watching weather. Saturday night…a forceful affair

writersblock benefit show at holocene 3-7-09There really isn’t much sense in doing a week in review at this point since it would only consist of work, run, sleep, wash and repeat. Work this week could best be put as “colorful”.  It is worth noting that I did learn a lot this week, sometimes you’d just prefer not to learn through dysfunction.  And I digress…

Dr. King and “The Speech”

From time to time at work I have the opportunity to experience some pretty cool things.  For instance just before Christmas break I walked passed Tiger Woods eating lunch with Phil Knight, I’ve opened the door for Gabby Reese, I’ve had the chance to listen to John Carlos speak about the ‘68 Olympics and the famous salute and I’ve seen Trevor Immelman do chip shots like he’s performing magic tricks.   But hands down the coolest and one of the most memorable experiences like is when I had the chance to listen to George Raveling speak.
